Christmas is OVER
It's always a little sad when the most wonderful time of the year comes to a close. It seems to me that the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas gets shorter and shorter the older I get. Not unlike the speed at which the years fly by, right? I was thinking recently about how this decade is almost over...not sure how that happened.
Trying to find a day and time for a get together when you have adult children with families can be a real challenge. I've learned that I have to throw my "holiday get together hat" into the ring early in order to grab a day and time close to Christmas. I can remember how exhausting it was when the kids were small visiting around Christmas Eve and Christmas Day making sure everyone was seen.
If you're like me, hosting a gathering of any kind can get the "gotta start getting ready gears" in motion. Oh, the things we do to make everything just right for our guests. The planning and preparations can be tiring and even downright ridiculous. Making lists and crossing out completed tasks, then adding new, not before considered things to take care of, whew! It can seem daunting but in the end, it's worth every bit of preparation time and the occasional aggravations as they crop up--it's all part of the holidays and I wouldn't have it any other way, but glad it's once a year!
Here's hoping your holiday season was a warm and happy time shared with loved ones and friends. Merry belated Christmas and my God bless you in the coming year!
